aka Hot Buttered Os
Earlier this week I indulged my inner child and made a small bowl of this toasty, buttery treat. Melt some butter in a saucepan, then add Cheerios, and salt to taste. Just eyeball the butter and Cheerio ratio. Stir over medium heat until your Cheerios are warmed through and starting to brown. Pour into a bowl and enjoy!
This was a Saturday morning cartoon snack when I was growing up. My sister tells me, though, that in the interest of authenticity I must use Parkay. This was Mom’s “butter” spread of choice. I don’t know. I find that a lovely, Irish Kerrygold makes for the yummiest Os!
I’ll have to remember to introduce Buttered Cheerios to my Little Missy the next time she visits.
Yes ma’am! Must use Parkaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! I’ve tried the real butter on this awesome treat and it just isn’t the same – LOL! It’s been years, however, since I tried to make them with real butter; maybe I’ll give it another shot 🙂 Darn it all, anyway – Now I have to go out and buy a box of Cheerios!
