We were able to spend some time on the lake while family was visiting last month. The weather was perfect. Blue skies. Warm temps. Nice breezes.
Little Missy was at first a bit apprehensive on her first of the season cruise, but she was already a seasoned sailor the second time out, leaning over the seats to watch the pontoons breaking through the choppy water. Grammy Kim was nervous and kept a firm hold on her, but Little Missy was enthralled with the water, and unperturbed regarding any potential danger.
We stopped at an island where she could wade at the water’s edge and play in the sand. Typical for a 2-year-old, she found the sand most fascinating, letting the wet grains flow through her pudgy little fingers over and over again. Another favorite game was jumping from the boat into Mom’s or Dad’s waiting arms. One. Two. Three. Weeeee! A little trick she learned in her swim classes.
Now, as Bumpa and I cruise the lake alone, we revisit our memories of Little Missy on the water, and we look forward to new memory making opportunities next summer.
